Need help with pants!

A pair of jeans, to be exact. They fit fine except for the waist, which is at least 6 sizes too small. (Weird, I know, but the legs + butt are fine.) How can I alter them to make them fit?

its almost impossible to make a [good looking] pair of jeans that were once TO SMALL.

Its WAY EASIER to just buy a size that is to big, or fits in the waist and then alter it so the butt and thighs fit.

I know that doesn't help you know, but just so you know for later.

Thanks, I kinda figured that it was hopeless. Alas. Looks like I'll be searching for another pair of jeans.
