Need a OOAK dress design... anyone up for the challenge? ;)

Hi all,

I'm going to be doing a photoshoot in a few months with a few other girls in the organisation I model for- this shoot is based on our modeling names. Mine is 'Piccola Tempesta,' meaning 'Little Storm,' and thus, I'd like to put together something that would represent me well. However, I'm a little short on ideas, and was wondering if any of you had any thoughts on the matter, or designs that you'd like to share.

I was looking into using a lot of dark greys and blues, possibly some black and white as well, for a colour scheme. I'd also like to go with a somewhat tattered, yet elegant look- windswept and naturally rebellious. A hooded gown with a v-neck front, perhaps?

I'm interested to read your input!

Kind regards,
Kitty

Not sure if this helps much, or is the look you are going for but for my final piece at school I did a catwalk outfit representing fire and used loads of ruched up netting and sewed it onto a bandeau top and a skirt. Could you do something like that? Obviously not exactly, but in the colours you said like greys, blues, blacks in a soft voile material, instead of the netting? It would be all 'swooshy'. Make the skirt big and it could be an upside down tornado?! Happy Team with the right accessories and it could look elegant.

I'm sure other will have MUCH better ideas lol. Thought I'd try and contribute though, you might get better ideas from what I mentioned...

I'm thinking a corset bodice (elegant) and skirt (tattered) made up of various lengths of different types and colors of fabric (blues and grays). I'm also thinking wristlets or armwarmers and perhaps a dramatic hat

What do you thing about a ancient Greek style dress with the ruched draped fabrics over bust and tied shoulders. You could use it as a simple base. Add coloured ties to shoulder straps, and possibily have a fitted waist clincher. That way you will have flow of fabric and the fitted look you want. It would go with a cloak of some kind too.
