Dark Circles - anyone have solutions?
So I have pretty awful dark circles, not below my eyes but to the insides of them. They are very purple, almost like I have constant black eyes!
My second problem is that my face sweats so much that I can't wear foundation or any cover up for more than an hour without it just melting off!
So cutoutandkeep- does anyone have any skincare solutions that I can try to get these closer to the skin colour on the rest of my face?
Invest in some good oil absorbent clothes and keep them on you throughout the day so you can soak up any oil. Also invest in a good concealer and powder based foundation. Those circles are certainly odd. I wonder if you've always had them or if they are recent? I'd also start taking some vitamins. Vitamin K, A, C, E and iron will all help clear up dark circles. I believe K and C are going to do the most to clear them up. Good luck
I've had them for as long as I can remember, and I honestly have never come across anyone with similar discoloration. I used to take multivitamins because of my Crohn's, but I don't remember seeing any difference, but I suppose anything is worth trying twice I've never had much luck with covering them, sweat is my biggest enemy but even before that the colour is so dark that I've never been able to cover them convincingly >_< Again, I suppose it's worth another shot.
If you've had them as long as you can remember, it could be a genetic issue. If that is the case you would probably have to see a specialist about removing them. But I would try the Vitamin K first and see if that doesn't make a difference after a month.
Oh My Gosh!!! I have like, the exact same problem as you!! You don't know how relieved I am to find someone else like me ^^
Er, I've bought this medicated concealer that works for me and my face (that always blushes , and that has seemed to work a bit) I can't remember the brand unfortunately, but I recommend getting some decent concealer
It's annoying though, having circles like that, because no matter how much I sleep, I always get them, anyway! Grrr
AND, my skin is always red, so I just looked flushed and tired all the time
It's a pain in the neck :-O
Same problem here plus my skin is constantly really red which makes me look like a miss piggy panda if you know what I mean What really works for me is benefit's Fake Up concealer. You might also want to get a descent concealer brush since if you try to apply the product with your fingers the layer is way too thin to conceal anything. Although the product is quite expensive it works really well. Also I would advise anyone to spend a little bit more money when it comes to concealer. A lot of concealers tend to try out the skin which is even more annoying than the dark circles :/ especially if you use it on the area around your eyes since it is really delicate. I really hope this helped somehow
Thank goodness it isn't just me >_< I have problems with energy levels, and I do notice that they get bigger and darker when I am having a bad day, but they are there in all their glory even when I'm on an up. I also get really red skin on my face, and my face gets burning hot all the time which is why it sweats so much and I struggle to keep makeup on! I'll definitely have a look into the medicated concealer, I'm sure google can find me the name if you can't remember it
I am experimenting a little at the moment with a green tinted foundation which seems to sort out red areas quite well. Green being the contrasting colour to red neutralises it but I suspect would not help greatly with purple. The technique might be worth thinking about though
Is that an indention from glasses ? Makeup only conceals the problem, if you can afford it I'd go to the dermatologist. He / she will probably ask you about your eating habits/ see if you're getting enough water bc that can affect your skin.
It isn't from glasses I've never had to wear them. I am in the UK so we do have the NHS, but I think you still have to pay for a dermatologist if the problem is only cosmetic and I doubt I can afford it >_<
I always have trouble changing my eating habits, I have such problems with my digestive system that even the smallest changes can throw me out of whack and land me back in hospital, so any major changes in diet are probably out of the question. Drinking more might possibly help? It's probably worth a try.
Hi!
I have the same problem - sweating so that the make up wont stay on too well and the dark circles and dents at the inside of the eye. When I was younger the circles darkened when I often had lots of stress and just to less sleep. I take care now, that I sleep enough. Besides: Stress is one major reason why we might not sleep as well as we think. It can also be an explanation of sweating a lot at "unhappy" parts of the body (hyperhidroses). You can possibly imagine that its annoying to sweat on the head a lot... never a good hair do! (I hate it.)
I am working a lot with the pc and I noticed, that when I do not take breaks and "rest" my eyes every hour for some minutes, the circles darken and by the end of the day I look awful. I found a medical explanation that says when the eyes are constantly moved a lot like in pc work, their muscles are very very good saturated with blood and oxygene and the little arteries and veins at the area between eyes and nose can better be seen through that really thin part of skin. Resting, closing eyes helps. Dark circles are not a result of irritated skin.
Luckily my mother is a cosmetician and she gave me a green concealing stick ( like Tracy J wrote). It workes well, even with purple circles. Unfortunatly the dents can still be seen.
Another explanation can be a an iron deficiancy. (Wasn't the problem I had.)
Check hints on sleep hygenie. It might help too.
Hope you will find a way to get rid of them, soon
I have the same problem! People always think I say up really late and get no sleep, even in the holidays when I get 8+ hours sleep! And I get so red right under the indentation/dark circles that people think I am sunburnt!
I have tried makeup but I am not allowed to wear that to school and I have acne so I don't wear full face makeup and therefore can't cover the redness all over my cheeks and under-eye area.
Even when the dark colour of the dark circles seems to be less than usual, the indentation of that area is still really noticeable
I seriously hate my skin, nothing ever fixes any of my problems with it, but I'll try that green concealer.
Until you find a permanent solution, experiment with yellow and green concealer. I use a nice yellow that blends to my skin tone when I add it over the dark circles. I know some skin tones respond to green instead. It is an amazing fix.
Oh, the pains of being white...we all seem to blush a lot! I get teased a lot for it at school D;
