Tattoos
Who has a tattoo?
What do you have?
not bad..........!!!
I have one about a 2 inch square sized celtic knot. I was 18 when I got it and was not prepared for it, kinda like a random afternoon activity, lol. Anyway its on my left shoulder blade, and it is just a outline because the tattoo artist was not patient with me, and I was not taking them pain well Then later I found out the jackass did it upside down (((((( so the triangle is inverted. I really want more, but I really need to find a great artist who can work with me *because apparently I'm a big baby*
Here is a clip art of what mine looks like
The only problem I have with mine is that I treated it kinda like crap so it's all faded. I've been trying to find a skilled tattoo artist in SD but haven't come across any. I look through all the tattoo artists' portfolios on FB and they all do shoddy work. My best friend did mine in 2 parts while she was apprenticing. Had I not overused A+D ointment, my tattoo would look flawless. Her husband and I have been trying to convince her to get back into tattooing. She quit about a year and a half ago because no one would bump her up to a full time artist. She's got the perfect touch with a gun and she does fantastic linework. I miss her
I want her to get back into it so badly so she can do my next few tattoos.
I have two tattoos.
I have paw prints on my lower back and a butterfly on my upper chest. When I got the butterfly, like you Pam, the tattoo artist got annoyed with me because I couldn't handle the pain. (the butterfly was one of the spur of the moment tattoos. I don't dislike it, I just wish I put a little more thought into it before I got it.)
I want to get another one, I just can't decide what and where.
I do like the idea of having one on the foot. Did it hurt Caitlin?
i have one and a sixth currently ;) The first was really small, i have four bats flying behind my right ear. The second one is still in progress, my first appointment was last week, five more will follow till june 2013. At the moment i have two roses at my upper back/shoulder blades, one looks like it´s roughly drawn with pencil and has antlers, the other one is shaded really fine on one half and fades out to a "join-the-dots" game on the other half. Inbetween is a lot of shading and some more bats flying. It took three and a half hours to make it and i have to say i was surprised it didn´t hurt more! i was relieved when it was over because the last ten minutes it started getting worse, but it wasn´t really bad at all! What was really annoying was that foil you get afterwards and that it was permanently itching for a week...
A lot of clients of my tattoo artist use an anesthesia balm (don´t know if that´s the real term for it) that makes the skin numb for some time so they can handle it better and he can work a bit longer. maybe that´ll help?
i have 4. i have 2 pokemon tattoos (flareon and vaporeon) a colon cancer ribbon, and coheed and cambria's band symbol.
I have LOTS of tattoos and plan to get many more.
On my right forearm, five baby footprints. On my left, a nursing mother pinup girl. On my right shoulder, a huge nautilus shell. On my backs, the Bad Religion logo with a skull and lotus flower, and on my lower back, ugly cherries that were a bad decision.
My newest tattoo is a 6" tall Mario on my right calf, in memory of my little brother who was killed 2 months ago at the age of 26. I plan to get Luigi next to him and eventually dedicate my entire right leg to Super Mario Bros.
Dedication tattoos are always sweet. Sorry to hear about your brother though--I know the feeling. My fiance lost his dad and brother in a car accident, lost his grandma a week later, and just last year our 16yo nephew was killed. I'm thinking I may eventually dedicate some small tattoos to them. I say small because my fiance doesn't care much for tattoos.
As it turns out, A+D ointment is about the worst thing you can put on a tattoo... anything that's a petroleum product or anything with alcohol in it should be avoided. I wish I had known that when I got mine because I would have made tattoo balm a lot sooner.
36 green ducks: It was very painful when he was going close to my toes and up my ankle. But, that was my first (and currently) only tattoo so I can't really compare it to a tattoo on another part of the body. If you like the idea, then you should definitely go for it I'm getting a matching caterpillar on my other foot for my birthday in March.
