Hair dye. To bleach or not to bleach?
Hi!
I've got two questions for you guys:
So, I've been thinking of dyeing my hair blue for the summer, but I'm feeling a little apprehensive on bleaching all of my hair first.
Right now, my hair is copper/ginger with a blond streak. I was wondering if I could just put blue dye on top or if I would have to bleach it first.
And by the end of the summer, I'd like to dye my hair red again. Does anyone have an idea if this might be possible? Or is the red just going to come out looking horrible?
Thanks!
You will have to bleach it somehow. I've found that a blonde highlight kit does the job better than normal bleach actually. I have to use it on my roots every time I redye my hair because my hair is a dirty blonde and the pink dye doesn't take so well on it.
You should have no problem making your hair red again at the end of the summer, as long as you use permanent hair dye for the red, or if you bleach your hair again. You might not have any blue left by then though so you can just dye over it. Bright colours are always semi-permanent (except some reds) so they will wash out eventually.
There are actually some kits you can find that bleach your hair out while putting in the color you want.... you do have to be careful though, those don't always turn out the way you want...
Awesome, I think I have an idea now on what I'm going to do^^
Thanks, guys!
I'd love to see the results!
Well I've decided to do black and blue and I'm gonna get the hairdye on wednesday. I'll post pictures when it's done^^
when I dyed my hair pink, I had to bleach 3 times to get a light enough blond colour o:
after that I had blue hair
and now purple o:
Careful about going swimming after dyeing your hair, My sister dyed hers purple, and now it's white in some places form the pool chemicals, she thinks it's cool though
