Mohawk?
This is my daughter with her mohawk. I'd go for it as it will grow back and my daughter said it made her feel more confident as people were like wooooooow..... She has a rounded face and she said it made her face look thinner because the height of her hair

Wow your daughter looks awesome, Sheila =)
Yeah she's a cool teenager. She's got her own style going on and really knows who she is. Even the chav types at school think she's got style. Don't give up if you want a mohawk. Sometimes it takes a while for friends and family to get used to the idea, but as you can see it doesn't have to be too drastic a change. You can always add hair falls if you fancy longer hair for particular events. It does grow back fairly quickly from short, it's hard to see how quick hair grows when it's longer
Mm I know, it's just that I already have "issues" considering the fact that my boyfriend is far too attractive to be with me, so I don't want to make myself more unattractive to him! Problem is he's really upset me about it so I'm not as excited about it as I was.
Your pretty, I've seen your pictures. This doesn't sound like the hair thing. Love yourself for who you are whatever you decide to do with your hair. Your bf is with you because he likes who you are. I've messaged you on other boards and you seem like a fun, bubbly person who's got a lot to offer. I don't think you can make yourself less attractive, you sound lovely to me. Please don't get upset over hair. Check out my profile piccie...Lol and my alternative hair bunches project. I change mine with hair pieces. It's a work compromise as I can't be too wild where I work.
I also got told that I would look manly if I cut my hair into a mohawk =P and I don't need to look any more manly haha.
u should do it it would look really cute and sweetie u shouldnt worry about the way u look i think u look really pretty and from what ive seen in convos on the board as sheila said u seem 2 have bubly personality so that mixed with ur looks u have the adorable look and ur boyfriend just hush otherwise sometimes just the thought of drastic change scares ppl or they just dont know what 2 think till happens and they get used 2 it and i really dont think it would make u look in anyway manly
i used to have a mohawk, it will definitely make people you don't know come and talk to you and for me what was said was always more positive than negative. not to be too creepy/internet pervy but you are pretty and i think you'd definitely be able to pull the look off.
Sheila your daughter is really cool.I love what she did with her hair on the second picture.
Knittin maybe you should try getting a shorter haircut then what you have now.And after a while get the mohawk. That way your bf will have the time to get used to you having shorter hair and it wouldt be such a shock.
Thanks Violetta. She dyed it blonde for her prom and has had it orange too Now she's gone back to her natural colour. she's 17 so she's young enough to experiment.
I agree with you that it's a good idea to go shorter in stages, although my daughter had wanted a mohawk for so long she went from being able to sit on her hair to mohawk. Her friends didn't recognise her!
I wish I had played more, my mother dragged me to church every sunday and would make a big deal everytime I played..Once I got out of having to go to church I was a little more expiermental but mom would always roll her eyes etc.. so I played it safe.. damn.
DO IT..
It'll be fun.. Shelia your daughters hair looks awesome even half grown out.
I still experiment with my hair and I'm 44...Lol and I'm better at dying it now I've learnt a few tricks

I hope that link works. I saw this a while back and I wanted to get my hair done that way. But now that I have actually grown my hair out to a good length I have also gotten my waves to look pretty and not a frizzy poofy mess. So now I'm not so interested in this hairstyle for me anymore but I still think it looks good. In case you can't see the picture it is long hair with the top cut into a mohawk... I don't know if there's a name for that...??
Oh yeah I saw that picture before but not sure it'd suit me. I dunno, I might do a mohawk at some point, but I'll leave it for now =( I needed to be excited about it really, and I'm not now Andy's told me it'd look crap
@sheila: i used to have hair almost up to my butt. and horrible glasses. and i always wore jogging pants and old tees from my brother.
then, i got contact lenses, my hair cut short
( but i'm letting it grow again a little, to see if it does look good now-it's now, at the longest point
(at the back) just touching that first bump on my back. so just above shoulders at the longest point. )
and i'm now wearing skinny jeans and cute/awesome tees and stuff.
so big change! the mom of a kid i've known for like, all my life apparently (my mom says so) actually didn't recognize me. no kidding. she didn't.
neither did another kid's big sister who i'd known for all my life.
it was great, it's a very positive change =D
i hope it was a good change for your daughter, too.
