How did you get started?
The idea of owning a yarn shop came to be after finding a sweet, little LYS in our town when we moved to New Jersey. I loved the way the owner combined the sale of vintage and antiques with knitting supplies and yarn in one shop. Fast forward ten years or so when we were able act on the dream of owning a shop and make it a reality. We chose a location with lots of foot traffic in a historic building and began the journey of creating community around the craft of making items with beautiful, natural fiber yarn.
Where are you located?
We are located in the Arts District at Liberty Station, near downtown San Diego, CA. Liberty Station is a retired Navy base that has been transformed into a neighborhood and shopping/arts district; a lovely spot to spend the day.
Which products do you specialise in?
We specialize in a curated collection of natural fiber yarn and tools for crochet and knitting. We hope that we are a place to discover a wonderful new yarn for your next project.
Do you have a particular favorite product that you sell?
Our Field Blanket Kit is a favorite at the moment. Soft organic, cotton and a quick knit makes this kit a wonderful gift for a little one.
What's on the stereo?
Depends on the mood of the day!
Where else should we visit in your area?
Liberty Public Market offers a slew of excellent food and drink choices. We love the Mexican Mocha from Chi Chocolate located right next door to us. There is also historic Naval items and installation art pieces located in the parks and lawns within Liberty Station.
Do you host any workshops, classes or special events?
Currently, our class offering is limited due to Covid. We hope to add group classes that meet in person soon. All of our classes we currently offer can be found on our website.
