DIY The Room

Ruthie from Refashionably Late recreates the modern & stylish bedroom of Ellen & Portia.

I love the modern style of this bedroom which I think in turn expresses Ellen's taste! If you were a fan of "Ellen's Design Challenge" on HGTV you would have noticed her love for modern decor. She has amazing style and this room is a great way to follow in Ellen's footsteps!

PunkyFunk recreates the bright and colourful home of artist, Sebastian Masuda.

Sebastian Masuda is not only an artist, but also the creator of the fashion line %6DOKIDOKI, who's style goes hand in hand with his art!

PixeyFey recreates the retro style of a typical room from the 1980's.

I made this board because of my current love of the series, The Goldbergs.

Chandra from Hashtag Blessed recreates the welcoming breakfast nook of Chip & Jo from Fixer Upper.

I love how Chip and Joanna repurpose the old to make it their own. Their farmhouse style is effortless yet classic & is oh so welcoming. From the plank walls to the rustic floating shelves & all the 'natural' feeling decor, it would be hard not to feel at home in this space!

Jenna from Wife In Progress recreates the style of Jennifer Aniston's stylish living room.

The pictures of her house that are available online show quite a warm, somewhat masculine style with lots of dark colors, rich furnishings, wood, stone ad metals - plenty of "natural" elements. To me, this matches perfectly with her sense of asual fashion that she's known for - she has great taste but looks like the approachable girl next door. I wanted to try to convey this in the pieces I picked.

Emma recreates the geeky office of Maurice Moss from the set of the IT Crowd.

I love the IT Crowd office as it is a colourful and fun working space. It has all the essential office equipment but it is also filled with geeky memorabilia, gadgets and great wall art. I would feel very comfortable working there and enjoying these geek chic surroundings.

Britta recreates the rustic cosy style of Applejack from My Little Pony's kitchen-living room.

Applejack is the best My Little Pony (Friendship is Magic) character because she's so down to earth and family-oriented. Her home, from what I've seen in the cartoon and what I imagine, must be so cosy and relaxing, being filled with only natural materials and precious vintage heirlooms passed down through the generations. The projects I've chosen to style her room are for a kitchen-living room space, as that's where the family spends time together. Handmade really suits Applejack as she's used to working hard for herself to get results! I hope you enjoy sharing my little picture of a dream room with all the cosiness it offers.

Ashly recreates the stylish office of Leslie Knope from the set of Parks and Recreation.

Leslie Knope's office isn't so much stylish, modern or cool, but definitely adorable and quirky. Her character spends a lot of time in her office compiling cute custom binders, having witty conversations and eating JJ's diner waffles with extra whip cream. Here are some projects that Leslie would definitely recommend just from seeing her work space.

Noraknickers recreates the romantic vintage style of Betsey Johnson's apartment.

From the first romantic prom gown I spotted in a teen magazine (did I just date myself there?), I have been a fan of Betsey Johnson. I just loved her vintage romanticism then, and in her interior design, I love her bold use of drape and color. Although, personally, I'd tone down the pink.

PixieFey recreates the geeky apartment of Leonard & Sheldon from the set of TV Show, Big Bang Theory.

I love the comfy look of Leonard and Sheldon's apartment, plenty of storage, lots of shelving units filled with books and of course all the comic book collectibles and sci fi film memorabilia dotted around. I could quite happily live here myself.
