When did you first get in to cooking and do you remember the first recipe you tried?
I remember my grandmother always cooking and baking and I would often help her. I did take a cooking class when I was around 9 and we made Mulligan stew.
What's your kitchen like and how do you keep organized when cooking?
I have a vintage style kitchen, I collect enamel ware and use it, along with tons of gadgets and cookware. I am a messy cook....but everything has it's place when I am done.
What tips would you give to someone wanting to become a better cook?
Try without fear of failure....so you burn something or it doesn't work out?? who cares, order pizza and move along.
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party and what would you cook for them?
well, my grandmother who taught me to cook, the Laura Ingalls family and Ronald Regan... all have passed on now but what a dinner party it would be! I would make my sweet and sour chicken, rice, fresh whole wheat bread and a couple pies for dessert.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I love to garden, decorate and collect vintage items.
