About
Red Riding Hood had to rush, because good ole 'Granny was a lush.
Hood $2: found at the thrift store in the children's section: I split the seams and made it into a cape **|** Arm Warmers: purchased long ago (can't recall price), added small white bows to each **|** Top $3 + ribbon $3: cheap plain white spaghetti strap top and glued ribbon on to create a pseudo corset **|** Skirt $7 (found in closet): thrift store find, never worn. was a long flowing skirt, but I shortened it and bunched it around the waist **|** Apron $3 (found in closet): used to be a dingy white ruffle blouse. split the seams and used the pleated part as the apron, then used the ruffles as the tie around the waist **|** Tutu (9 yards of tulle $10/15): created and used as a faux petticoat http://bit.ly/KKkMD **|** Socks $8: Purchased at Torrid (so they'd fit comfortably around my calves) **|** Shoes $5: lucky find at a thrift store **|** Basket $1 + foam board $1 + ribbon $2/3: Start with a plan basket and add accents: like white bows and red furry ribbon **|** To make the foam holder: (1) Cut out a circle from the foam board and kept cutting away until it matches the inside of the basket and fit snugly. It takes time, but it's worth it. (2) Take the flask and shot glasses and trace their shapes on the circular foam board (which you've already made sure fits in the basket (3) Use an exacto knife and cut out the flask and shot glass outlines. The holes will be tight so just whittle away little by little until each shot glass and the flask fit tightly but slide out easily as well | vBowne | **update**
after viewing a few pics of myself, I decided that it look too 'Miss Christmas' for me, so I ended up covering the white trim on the hood with red fabric and replacing the small white puffy balls on the hood ties.
