Those are absolutely amazing, but how did he fit them through his lobe if they have the little suction cups on both sides?

Oh my god i just love the plugs you make out of clay!! I just have a few questions about it. Do you paint the plugs with shiny lacquer? and also do you know if wearing them would cause infection??...I only ask because i want to make a pair but dont want to risk getting an infection. Love the plugs and a how-to would rock!!
