Paisley Dress

My first dress made completely from scratch!
My first try at sewing an item completely from scratch. I went for the grecian style dress in the DIY couture book. I used an orangy paisley print that I had bought in a sale. Its far from perfect, I made loads of alterations as it didn't fit very well and looked like I was wearing a paisley sack! Unfortunately, I also cut it a bit short! So it ended up as a party dress rather than a demure work dress. I wore it to a gig with the accessorises pictured.

All in all I was reasonably happy with it as a first dress. It may not be perfect but at least I have managed to make a wearable garment and I've learnt loads about sewing and pattern cutting.
