You Will Need

Step 1
BODY
Make the body using grey yarn:
Round 1: 6 dc in an adjustable ring (6 sts).
Round 2: 2 dc in each st (12 sts).
Round 3: *2 dc in next st, 1 dc* six times (18 sts).
Rounds 4–8: 1 dc in each st (18 sts).
Round 9: *dc2tog, 1 dc* six times (12 sts).
Stuff with toy filling.
Fasten off, leaving a length of yarn for attaching the head. -
Step 2
HEAD
Round 1: using black yarn, 5 dc in an adjustable ring (5 sts).
Round 2: using white yarn, 2 dc in next st, 4 dc (6 sts).
Round 3: *2 dc in next st, 2 dc* twice (8 sts).
Round 4: 2 dc in next st, 7 dc (9 sts).
Round 5: 2 dc in next st, 8 dc (10 sts).
Round 6: *2 dc in next st, 4 dc* twice (12 sts).
Round 7: using black yarn, *2 dc in next st, 3 dc* three times (15 sts).
Round 8: *2 dc in next st, 4 dc* three times (18 sts).
Round 9: *2 dc in next st, 5 dc* three times (21 sts).
Round 10: using white yarn, *2 dc in next st, 6 dc* three times (24 sts). Use the end of the white yarn to embroider markings over the black part between the eyes and on each cheek.
Rounds 11–13: using grey yarn, 1 dc in each st (24 sts).
Round 14: *dc2tog, 2 dc* six times (18 sts).
Round 15: *dc2tog, 1 dc* six times (12 sts).
Insert the eyes between rounds 8 and 9 with 7 sts between them.
Stuff with toy filling.
Round 16: *dc2tog* six times (6 sts).
Fasten off and weave in loose ends. Sew the head to the body. -
Step 3
EAR (make 2)
Round 1: using grey yarn, 4 dc in an adjustable ring (4 sts).
Round 2: *2 dc in next st, 1 dc* twice (6 sts).
Round 3: *2 dc in next st, 2 dc* twice (8 sts).
Fasten off, leaving a length of yarn for attaching. Do not stuff the ears. Press the ears flat and sew them to the top of the head. -
Step 4
LEG (make 4)
Round 1: using black yarn, 6 dc in an adjustable ring (6 sts).
Rounds 2 and 3: 1 dc in each st (6 sts).
Fasten off, leaving a length of yarn for attaching. Do not stuff the legs. Sew them to the body. -
Step 5
TAIL
Round 1: using grey yarn, 5 dc in an adjustable ring (5 sts).
Round 2: 2 dc in next st, 4 dc (6 sts).
Round 3: 2 dc in next st, 5 dc (7 sts).
Round 4: using black yarn, 2 dc in next st, 6 dc (8 sts).
Round 5: using grey yarn, 2 dc in next st, 7 dc (9 sts).
Round 6: using black yarn, 2 dc in next st, 8 dc (10 sts).
Round 7: using grey yarn, *2 dc in next st, 4 dc* twice (12 sts).
Round 8: using black yarn, *2 dc in next st, 3 dc* three times (15 sts).
Round 9: using grey yarn, 1 dc in each st (15 sts).
Round 10: using black yarn, 1 dc in each st (15 sts).
Round 11: using grey yarn, 1 dc in each st (15 sts).
Round 12: using black yarn, *dc2tog, 3 dc* three times (12 sts).
Stuff with toy filling.
Round 13: using grey yarn, *dc2tog, 2 dc* three times (9 sts).
Round 14: *dc2tog, 1 dc* three times (6 sts).
Fasten off, leaving a length of yarn for attaching. Sew the tail to the rump.
