• 

  Step 1

  Locate a spinning CD holder from a thrift shop or yard sale.

• 

  Step 2

  Using a yard stick measure and cut 4 pieces of foam core board with an exacto knife, one for each side of the spinner

• 

  Step 3

  Test the pieces to make sure that the form core board fits under the lip of the top of the spinner, cut/adjust as needed

• 

  Step 4

  Lay out fabric of choice [I used burlap] and lay the 4 pieces of foam core side by side, leaving quarter inch in between. Trim excess fabric. Leave an inch or two around all 4 sides.

  Step 5

  Use strong packing tape. First tape the 4 pieces of foam core together leaving a small space in between to act as a hinge.
  Then turn the fabric edges one by one and tape them flat to the boards all the way around

  Step 6

  Step 8

  Carefully begin adding the fabric covered boards to the sides of the spinner. If the boards are not a snug fit, you can use an adhesive glue such as gorilla glue.

• 

  Step 9

  All 4 sides snugged in and tight.
  If you like, add a decorative ribbon around the middle

• 

  Step 10

  Here is the finished product. [ I ended up making two of these ]

  Step 11

  To hang or display jewelry, use curtain hooks poked through the fabric, into the foam board

• 

  Step 12

  Hooks in place and jewelry ready to display.

Such a great idea! I may have to try this out. I've got a ton of foam core, and this just gives me another excuse to hit up the thrift store!
