lol i really wanted to want this but i didnt have yellow and orange and i was like nooo and i couldnt be bothered tobuy more so i just used black for the body and red for the rest. it looks like a poisoned sushi roll!!
This pattern in genius, I can't wait to try it - and if I do this one right I may have an idea for something else based on this idea... really, what an awesome plush.
This project is so cool! I just made a couple, and I'm going to make them as additional presents for people for Christmas (for the ones who love sushi, of course!). I'm not an experienced sewer, but with a couple of online sewing tutorials I got the hang of it. I would definitely recommend having a sacrificial fish if you will to experiment, as my first one didn't turn out so well but the second one was much better. I'm using embroidery thread, which I think is good for its durability, but it can get tangled, so be careful. Pulling the fish in and out of the sushi part is a little difficult since the hole in the white circle is pretty small, but I think that the embroidery thread will keep it from coming apart. I hope they last awhile, because they're adorable! Thank you for sharing this project!
OhMyGoodness I LOVE these! they are so cute & addicting to make! My bff & I love to get sushi so I made her a take out box w/ these & those felt fortune cookie!
This is honestly SO cute that I headed on right away to my local Michael's and bought orange, yellow, dark green, and white felt. I tried this out, and I failed SO bad. Everything started tearing, everything was uneven, and all I had left was a circle of white felt left.

I made this Sushi-fish for christmas as a gift. It was a big hit, because the presentee likes Sushi very much. The others, who stand around were AMAZED too . And I discovered sewing again ;-). Thanks for this cool project! The idea is fun.
hey. thanks heaps for the how-to! I'm in the middle of making it right now, i'm just a bit stuck at step 18. its probably really obvious but i just cant get it any help would be appreciated! thanks
Hi Cat, what kind of glue did you use for the googly eyes? I tried using just regular white craft glue but they fall off! I'm afraid to use anything too strong in case it melts through the eyes and then the eyes won't wiggle anymore. Let me know what you can suggest, thanks!!
This is the most creative and hilarious craft project! I've featured a link to your project on the Foodie page of our Homemade Christmas Gift Guide. Hehe, you have to have a dark sense of humor I suppose.
I made the plushie last night and everyone at work LOVES it! I need to make a new one though because all my knots are on the wrong side, I got mixed up with what was going to be on the inside and outside while I was making it, oops!
woooooow! In craft: there was a reversable chicken and egg, made out of knitting I well want that pattern, may have to work it out in felt by using this how to and adapting it!
Thans for sharing!
