Celebrate with a fireworks embroidery
My husband used to see fireworks ALL the time, just on random evenings driving on the interstate. I always thought that was meaningful for him, so I made him this embroidery. It's a great project to start out with in embroidery and only uses freeform straight stitching.

  • Step 1

Choose a fabric as the background for the embroidery, and sew a sturdy fabric like canvas to back it. Simply pin the fabrics together and use a zig zag stitch around the edges.

  • Step 2

Sketch out some basic drawings of fireworks to use as a sort of pattern. There are tons of photos for inspiration online. Then simply enjoy some basic hand stitching, using embroidery floss in different colors.
