Wow, your poor fingers must have hurt after all of that (+the glue gun burns) but you are my idol. That dress was amazing. What was the name of the movie?

Bravo! My daughter nearly fell over when I showed it to her. I had just gotten myself up from the floor when she walked in. You should totally post a note letting everyone on CO&K know the name of the movie so we can go see it.
The sheer size and detail of this project had me in awe of you. The level of success you had in replicating the design, keeping it symetrical and properly shaped... I bow to your skills. This was fantastically done.
(I can only hope you were able to sleep very well and for a good while after it was done. Production hours are killer at the best of times- and I've never yet had to put in as many as that!)
That is awesome. I can't believe you took strands of beads and glued them on! I would have never thought of that. If the bride is the one with the axe and then she ends up with blood all over her, I want to see this movie. Where can this movie be available to watch when it is done?
Thank you, everyone, for your overwhelmingly kind comments.
The movie is still in post production. It has had several screenings of various rough-cuts. Now, it's in the final stages of post-production - getting its music score and special effects.
I'll see if I can put up other costume/prop projects I did for this film. The only problem is, I was so busy just trying to get it all done, I didn't really take any "in-progress" photos of the other projects.
that's crazy cool and so much work! But if it makes you feel better, you are following in the tradition of costume designers everywhere! Victorian costume designers for plays used to just glue and paint on their costumes.
The director just released the first "official" trailer for the film. I hope you enjoy it!
I don't think you can see this dress in the trailer, but you can see other costumes that I've made for it, including the black and white ballgown.

I mostly just have photos of the end result.
I think it would be a great way to create a cheap wedding dress, or any other kind of gown. It would probably great for a masquerade ball, too.
It doesn't look bad at all in person, either.
I'd guess that this wouldn't be bad for masks or boxes or other smaller projects.
But the bloody bit is effing brilliant!!

What a work! It looks absolutely fabulous. Did the move turn out half as good? ;-)
