• 

  Step 1

  Place oil, salt, flours, yeast and warm water in a Bowl. Mix until dough just forms.

• 

  Step 2

  Place onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for 5 minutes or until smooth and elastic.

• 

  Step 3

  Place dough in a large, oiled bowl. Cover and set aside in a warm place for 45 minutes or until doubled in size.

• 

  Step 4

  Using your fist, punch down centre of dough. Knead for 20 to 30 seconds or until smooth. Roll out to form a round pizza bases at desired size and thickness.

• 

  Step 5

  Place onto a metal pizza base tray and bake at 220•c for 4-5minutes or until base starts to puff up, remove from oven and top with pizza toppings replace back into oven until base is crunchy and cheese is melted.

I've tried making my own dough before ( similar to this recipie) but it never rises and when I cook it, it never seems to cook thoroughly. What went wrong?

You need toile sure its warm water and when you are
Leaving it to rise it must be left in a warm spot. If I do this recipe in cold weather it never works so if its cold I place the oven on the lowest possible temp, leave the door open and sit the bowl on a teat owl on the door, obviously not close enough or hot enough that the bowl will melt but just to make the air warm

Also the cooking factor, bake it for 4-5 minutes before adding toppings and the place it back in the oven to cook toppings
