Owl tree Earth day 2010
This was inspired by two things
The Great Horned owl chicks we have been watching growing up over the last two months.
My ever growing book collection was the other resource.
Layered,Textured & Stitched by Ruth Rae has elements. The trunk has been on my desk supports for 10 months. The book how to is called Paper,Stitch and Metal.I made the fibre for the leaves on my return for the UK last summer and they have sat in my fat fibre book.
The owl chicks were changed at the end to include some yellow glass hand made beads which my Mum brought on a trip to Africa I think in the 1960's.These just reflect the intensity of the owl chicks eyes the first time I saw them in the binoculars
