The way I make argyle print for short nails.
Materials:
Pure Ice: Frosted Ice Calypso
White Polish with Striper Brush
Teal/Turqoise Polish with Striper Brush
Gold Glitter Polish with Striper Brush

I used a bit too much glitter... so you can adjust that if you want.

The time is for EACH nail (if you do only one at a time). Please note, this design takes a lot of time. It is probably more time efficient to both hands at once. It will take a good few hours...

You Will Need

  • How to paint a checkered nail. Argyle Nail Design - Step 1
    Step 1

    Apply 2-3 coats of Pure Ice Frosted Ice Calypso or your chosen color.

    Make dots with the white (or color of choice) as shown. The pattern is 3 (left, middle, right) then 2 in between.

    Connect the dots at the top to make diamond halves.

    Connect all the dots around the sides. The base color should now look like a "X".

    Make a diamond in the middle by connecting the last 4 places/dots. It's messy right now, but don't worry about it.

    Use your turquoise (or color of choice) to color in some of the diamonds as shown. So much neater now! You can stop at this part of you want.

    This step is optional.

    Using the gold glitter (or color of choice., connect the four middles (top, right, bottom, left) to make the diamond. It is easier to do this first before making the large "X" shape across the nail.

    Top coat and you're done! Don't forget to take some pretty photos, this design is A LOT of work!
