Apple Strudel Cake
A nice change for a warming dessert.

It is crunchy on top with soft fruit underneath & soft cake base.

Can be served with cream, ice cream or on its own with a coffee.

  • How to bake a strudel. Apple Strudel Cake - Step 1
    Step 1

    First make the strudel topping.

    Rub 75g butter, 50g sugar & 100g flour until it resembles bread crumbs.

    Put aside until later.

    Mix up the cake.

    Cream the butter & sugar together.

    Add the eggs& vanilla.

    Add the flour, cinnamon.

    Place into tin.

    Slice the apples & place neatly on top of the cake mixture.

    Place the strudel topping on top of the apples.

    Cook for approx 1 hour. Gas 4/ 180 degrees.

    Remove from the oven & cool completely.

    Cut into slices and serve with cream, ice cream or on its own.
