Wool types?:/

So i want to knit my boyfriend a scarf for christmas.. but proper wool (you know.. the good stuff) really irritates him, so does anyone know what type of wool would be best to use? Happy Thank you x

Some varieties of alpaca wool are much finer than sheep's wool, so they're less irritating.
You could also look into using cotton yarn, though if you want something bulky you're out of luck... I can't wear wool because of an allergy to it, and I have had the hardest time trying to find cotton yarns. They're all either light or medium weight. =/

merino is nice. I don't know how it rates with allergies but 'superwash' is really snuggly
