CO+K Swap-Bot Group
I think it got lost in the first line but I'm preferring to stay here but thanks for the info.
Oh. That's a good idea. Let me know when you set it up. I probably won't do any swaps for awhile but I wiuld like to just observe how it works. Sorry for the typo but I'm typing with fat finger on this tiny little phone and I don't know how to erase it without having to erase the whole line...but come to think of it, erasing would have been a lot less work! Lol!
O
I also wouldn't join if I would have to put my full name online. Because of some of the work that I've done and activities I'm involved in, I like to seperate my work and my online presence. It looks like lots of fun so I wish you all the best with it. I love swapping on Co+K though so hopefully some people will stay here
staying here, not interested in trying to navigating any other sites. Dessah~I like your "incomplete swap" idea....just sayin, LOL!
Sorry, I haven't been online in awhile, but it's cool with you all's decision to stay here.
I googled my name and didn't find me anywhere. I have a fb and myspace (both I hardly ever go to...I never go to myspace at all), a socialgo network, a blog on blogspot and another one that I can't even think of the name right now, I'm registered here and swap-bot, two shops and another site where I have posted my crafts, flikr and photobucket. Odd! Did realize though that there a lot of people that have the same name as me, but none of those sites came up when I looked to see if I would come up.
Dang, I just looked back at that LOOONG list, half of them I don't even use anymore; I need to be deleting those.
Oh Dessah, is that a fat finger cuz it's swollen or cuz of tiny keys? LOL
Tiny stinkin' keys...it's a touch screen and I'm still trying to adapt to the "new" technology. Makes me wish I still had my plain boring phone sometimes! Life was easier when my phone didn't tell me every time I got an email, or a FB update!
I think I would just like to stay on this site, although I would like to see some improvements in the swapping process, perhaps a rating system similar to the one on swap-bot, or even a feedback system similar to ebay or etsy, on our profiles.
Swap-bot does look quite good, but I don't have much time online , I'm always too busy, but perhaps some time in the future I'll check it out again.
Making some conditions for the Newbie swap might help ( eg length of time on sites, and activity on site before first swap), and keeping the "flakers" list in view for all to see would surely encourage swappers not to join swaps unless they intend to finish them.
Creative..try putting your real name into www.123people.com . I did, and was shocked to see so much, even my Amazon wish-list was there for all to see!
Yeah Nora, that all would be nice so that's the reason I even proposed something different. This site is basically a craft site, so I would be surprised if Cat and Tom added all that because it would be more work and possibly more man power, not to mention the adverts. I wonder if anyone ever asked if they could or thought about setting up the site for swapping with the monitoring and stuff. And I will try that site, but in any case I've got some sites I need to get rid of.
Ha, I just used that site and I didn't come up as many times as I thought I would, maybe 4 or 5 times, and not even once in the social network category.
Actually Dessah has responded by changing the Newbie rules.Could we take time to check them out and see if they are more helpful.
We have added a two month time frame for the swap. We've changed the wording and starting criteria.
Cat and Tom do work with us to improve the site and are interested in discussing monitoring and swap.It all just takes time.
re123 there are so many people with my real name but my art handle is pretty unique ( just a hairdresser's in Essex)
That would be cool if they could put something into place for swapping. It would be easier and more fun again for the obvious reasons I've stated before.
We've worked on the Newbie and End Swap tracking side of things-Dessah has done a great job to improve this.
I was me that asked for the sticky to be removed from the End swap and Cat responded very quickly.
I was unhappy that my feedback appeared the next day as a link on my Facebook page.I contacted Cat.
I was so surprised to see the response on "Crafty friends" on Facebook -it just made me so sad.
So I've worked with Dessah to improve things and would really welcome some feedback around setting up a thread for hosts but that will have to for another day.
Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM) really does fit CO+K
Again, I'm really sorry that your feelings were hurt...I'm sure now that everyone knows that you asked for the unsticky out of concern for other's feelings, we all understand and respect your opinion.
Now, if it had been done by a negative, spiteful person (or a person on the list) that would have been a bit different.
My apologies for making you feel unwelcome on the FB group...even if it was unintentional. ;)
Well, I was wondering why it was no longer a sticky, but that I didn't know about. Sorry to hear that went down Deb.
Yeh I'm sorry too Deb. I can understand why you asked it to be removed if it was appearing on your facebook.. I think we all just assumed that it was complained about by someone who wasn't interested in that particular swap thread or was done in maliciousness. So yeh I'm going to apologise for being narked by it. Hope you can forgive me.
