etsy Questions

So this might not be the right spot but hey you can feed me to the vultures later

Here's the thing i've been thinking about getting an etsy but i have some questions for people who have them

I like my stuff but i see some of the stuff on their and wonder are you able to sell things and make a profit i'm affraid i'm going to get one no one will want to buy my stuff and i will end up with a loss anyone want to help me...

Well it only costs 20 cents to list one thing, though that can add up if you list a lot of items, but it's not a big expense. No fee to join. You price your stuff whatever you want and then the commission from a sale that goes to etsy is 3.5%. So I guess it would depends on what you sale and how popular it is, but a couple of things that can kill a potential sale is lack of description of your items and a good picture. I have read that a lot from peeps who are pretty much pros at the online shop thing.

I came across another site similar to etsy, zibbet.com. No fees to join and no listing fees with unlimited listing, but they do ask for a 7.5% commission on all sales not including the shipping price. I'm thinking of setting up shop there as well too.

I have to save up the money first (i have no job sad i know) so hopefully in may this may be a personal question but can anyone tell me about how much there etsy cost them per month so i can have an idea

Mine is kinda outrageous b/c I've listed probably 200 things in the past 3 months. But it's only a one time listing fee of 20 cents per item and then if you sell something they charge you 3.5% of the cost of the the item. So it's not that bad.
