OOO I have a really old book in my room of John Donne love poems that I got for free cuz it was in the library at college on a table with loads of other books that they didnt want Happy I've not read it properly yet but I like his poems I've not read a lot of Dylan Thomas stuff but I have a book of his stuff after reading part of Under Milk Wood in college Happy

I was talking about getting married and said how my cousin will be 5 or 6 when she's our bridesmaid and my bf suddenly went 'HOW OLD IS SHE NOWWWW... sudden scary vision of the future then!' lol he was only joking...i hope.

Thanks Roma, those poems are great! I'm so excited about this.

Haha Queenie, Tim's a bit like that but he's also quite mature so he doesn't mind it too much. And he knows I'm not not serious about wanting a baby right now (just in a few years).

I just made mike a card and I put it on the projects page because I'm very proud of it because the embroidery thread kept being crap and I messed it up because I thought I would run out of thread and I got very annoyed and threw the card and one of two embroidery needles I have across the room!!! But it turned out great!

I've become very broody lately but having a baby now would be so ridiculously stupid. Mike said himself that he lives for the day which is true, and I said that I live 2 years in the future and cuz I think I have a '5 year plan' where as he just drifts along and it probably explains why when he finished uni and was trying to find a job he wasn't all weird like I have been lately because of not having a job. I'd marry him now! but again we're young and it would be stupid because we wouldn't have enough money, but he seems fine that all that may happen Happy More so then I am cuz his parents are still married but mine got divorced.

Mm I had a chat with Tim today about what would happen if I got pregnant at my age (I'm 16, he's 21) and even though I so desperately want a baby, and I don't think that age has anything to do with how much you can love a baby, I want to have some kind of financial security before having a child. Jesus, I have so much respect for teenage mothers who can do it right, but I guess I need the assurance of a degree so I know I can get a job and look after it. And Tim decided he's really not old enough to have a child anyway.

Then we realised that was a very serious discussion for some people that had actually only been going out for about a month and a half

the reason I don't think young mothers is always such a good idea is nothing to do with how much you can love a baby because age doesn't come into it, it's about having enough money, being in a stable relationship and knowing about life and yourself enough to bring up the baby in the right way. My mum has been a single parent since I was 10 and it's had some effect on me which is my dad's fault not hers and so I think being in a proper relationship at least in the beginning is very important. That leads me to say how much I hate the fact that there are still roles for mothers and fathers I think if they gave men as much paternity time as maternity time then that would help but then how can you afford to care for the baby and other things on half pay if both partners are off? it's so complicated!

Teenage mums aren't always terrible mothers, it sounds like my attitude to young mothers is bad but my fear of having a baby young and of all the young mothers I've known comes into it and you can only gather from expierience but I don't like to stereotype ANYWAY, instinct takes over and you just know but you never really figure out why you're here and who you are but being 25 rather then 15 probably makes a difference. Like i said once how can you bring up a child if you're still a child, I think you really have to figure out some of those big questions before having a baby.

Mike and I have joked about marraige and babies since the beginning but it's always half serious Happy

I had a dream last night that Tom and I had a baby! Well in the dream the baby was born prematurely, and so prematurely that we forgot all about it!

and we were in a shopping centre and i saw a young mum with a baby and i suddenly remembered my baby in the hospital and then there was the whole "eeeek i'm nervous!" thing and then i got excited about knitting it baby blankets, and then we started talking about names and things and then we got all happy about having a baby. It was odd.

Haha aaw! I used to really freak out at the thought of having to give birth and being pregnant and stuff, but then I had this amazing dream where I was going into labour and my boyfriend at the time (he's long gone but shush) was sat by my side, telling me how proud he was of me, and ever since it hasn't worried me so much.

I bought some gummi bears, an ashtray, four beer glasses and a pillowcase today. Time to get started!

I once had a dream that I gave birth in an English lesson and no one seemed to notice! I used to freak out about it so much that I was kinda scared of babies lol I'm fine about it now although birth and labour just seem scary. Although at first I'm a bit like WHAT DO I DO like when my auntie passed me my cousin who's only about 8 months old and I was like 'errr' even though I'd been going 'soooophiiee' and holding her hand lol my auntie said she was the same at my age. I made stamps woop!

You made stamps?!

I've found out what size his laptop is and I think I'm gonna knit him a laptop cover. What I might do though is knit it, then line it with fabric so it holds a bit better. I had to ask him what laptop he had which may have given it away a bit, but I managed to find out the measurements and things by myself, so I'll probably do a paper mock-up so I can get it the right size. I think if that's his main present, then I give him the ash tray, beer glasses, love poem book and pillowcase, they can be like the smaller presents to back it up, and I'll put them all in a nice box =)

And he agreed that if I get more for him than he get for me (my birthday's two days before his), he'll have to make it up to me some other way, so I'm no longer worried about going overboard =P

Okay I need to know whether the laptop case idea is good now, because I just went out and told my mum I was gonna do that and she burst out laughing, and then said "Will he want you to knit a laptop case?" which just bothers me SO MUCH because I know he'd love it, he loves that I'm crafty and I thought I'd do it in yellow and black stripes because he's begging me to make him a yellow and black jumper and I know it'd be so cute and I could maybe actually do it, despite the fact that I'm completely incompetent, but my mum just fucking has to put that little bit of doubt in my mind and make me freak out.

Thankyouthankyou. I felt like I was going insane for a second, like it was really obvious that it was a bad idea and I was just too stupid to realise it.

Ooh bottlecap stamps sounds good

Yeah- don't listen to your mum. I'm always making my tom silly little things and he loves them, and that's partly because I made them and partly because I know him best. My mum's always laughing at the things I make or buy for him (normally childish stuff, toy dinosaurs, pacman ghost ipod covers) but he always loves them.
