Christmas Gifts for men
Ok so christmas is drawing closer and I am stumped of what I can make for the men in my life. Every year I find it impossible to find or make presents for them and there is only so many times you can give them a scarf. I also live with most of them so it needs to be something easy to hide. So there is:
My step dad- he is a computer programer. Into his gadgets, he is also a keen rower. hes red green colour blind so I have to stay away from thoughs colours. he gets cold so I had thought maybe I could Knit him a jumper so if any one knows of any easy patterns that would be helpful, but other ideas would help to.
My Boyfriend- hes a gamer, he's in to anime and steampunk. hes artistic, but he likes using computers. His faverate colour is blue. I have no idea what to make for him so lots of ideas would be helpful.
My Elder Brother- He is in to pretty much the same thing as my BF but he is also in to Dub step.
My Little Brother- He is in to creating models, War Hammer, History, Greek mythologie, and Persy Jackson.
So if any one had any ideas it would really help
Thanks
xxxx
A few ideas:
My step dad- Does he carry his gadgets around? I'm thinking pouches to protect his (maybe he has) USB sticks, parts to his wireless mouse, cables for his lappy? You could sew him a blanket (any size though I'm thinking a lap size or sofa throw) with a knit trim. You could embellish any of the above with some rowing images, maybe his team logo or even just paddles and boats.
My Boyfriend-Does he do costuming or role play? You could make any kind of steampunk accessories to go with those costumes. Likewise if he does anime costuming. You could make him plushie felt fridge magnets of his fave art supplies (I think I may use this idea for one of my friends!) and/or computer parts. If he loves a desktop make him a keyboard and a monitor and a mouse, etc. If he loves his lappy make him a laptop with a mouse and printer, etc. Art supplies = ruler, pencils, paint jars and brushes, etc.
My Elder Brother-See Boyfriend ideas.
My Little Brother-Maybe you could make him an organizer for his model and War Hammer parts? I saw some great clock making instructions. Maybe you could make him a clock out of a Greek Mythology book?
I hope this helps to stimulate your own thoughts. Best wishes and have fun!!
My first suggestion was going to be scarves... but you've covered that. Haha.
Maybe make them hats that match scarves you've made them?
For your dad--how about a pen cup made of old floppy disks, filled with new pens?
If your boyfriend uses Photoshop a lot, see if he has a WACOM tablet. If he doesn't, maybe consider getting him one.
There are tons of books about drawing anime and manga that might be potential gifts for your boyfriend and older brother.
As for the little brother, get him a Warhammer board game, like Chaos in the Old World (if he doesn't have it already) or get him a new paint set for his figurines.
Every year I have same problem with buying or making gifts for the men in my life too. Choosing presents for females is so much easier as we like pointless things that are nice to look at, accessories, smellies, cushions etc.
I have in the past given homemade edibles such as toffee, fudge, truffles and jarred things like spicy relish and chilli jam to my dad and step dad.
Last year I gave my bf a stitched portrait. Although it was embroidery, it was a pic of him holding a gun looking mean so its kinda cool.
There are loads of ideas for steampunk accessories out there too so maybe you could give that a try
My boyfriend told me he wants me to make him him a bathrobe and pajama pants. Both pretty easy projects and I suspect all the men in your life would appreciate them.
For your bf and older brother there are loads of gamer-inspired projects on CO+K. I like these:

This would also be easy to do and pretty adaptable to your choosen image:

Maybe not quite so relevant but very cool are these:

I've made tons of gifts for my boyfriend over the past year and a half, including a Binary Pillow that spells out I love you, a book of poetry I've written for him, a mixed CD of songs from movies we've seen together and a love slave robot.
it depends on your budget, and whether u want to make stuff or not
for the warhammer, if ur going to make a case, the inside MUST be padded, and be able to move bits around, look up citadel gaming case on games workshop website. if its a case for storing parts from sprues, drawers and dividers like people use for tools, beads etc
