Tee Revamp Issues

Hey y'all. I'm relatively new to sewing, but I've got a problem.

I have a tee shirt I really love. Only problem is, it's a men's medium. I'm 5'7" woman. I've looked through all the modification ideas, but none really work because the design wraps around my left hip about 3" from the lower hem, and up to about 4" from the collar. Any ideas for it? Doesn't have to be a shirt when I'm done!

I might be wrong, but since the design wraps around the side then I'm guessing your shirt doesn't have side seams - so the design is printed on on continuous piece of fabric. If that's right, then maybe you could cut it out and use the design as an appliqué patch/reverse appliqué layer for a different shirt/other piece of clothing.

http://whatthecraft.com has some nice tutorials which remodel tshirts, or if it's too big for a shirt maybe you could use it as a panel in a gored jersey skirt or something? (I'm going to be making some this summer using this tutorial - http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/nautical-inspired-navy-circle-skirt-and-striped-top)

I hope you find something to use it for and pictures when you're done would be awesome Happy

There are some really awesome ideas on here! I would personally turn it into a skirt.

tube top would be popular, or if you feel comfortable then cut the back out (and the sleeves and top part) and cut the back piece into strips... then you can lace up the back, add elastic to the top and viola... perdy nifty! A skirt is also a very easy solution also, especially if it wraps around... elastic at the top... or cut a part of it out of the back and put a zipper in (if you feel comfy with it... me... new to zippers so right now... elastic is my friend)
