Plastic cabochon making help!

I just wanted to know the basics of making plastic cabochons, such as the solid vintage looking ones with images on them. I enjoy making jewelry but would like to start making cabochons/pendants with my own images on them and I really dont know what the process is. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

well if you're starting from scratch you need to learn from a professional and have a bunch of machinery. however, you could probably inlay precut stones into empty metal pendants. the only trouble with this would be finding the right match. or you could use that silver clay stuff, but its hard to find and most need to be fired in a kiln. so, you could use polymer clay (ie, sculpey) or something like that and be creative with it!

I'm not quite sure exactly what you are trying to do....
I have a few different methods of making pendants with images that I use regularly, including resins, polymer clay, transfer films and molds. If you look at my projects you will see examples of all of these, and if there is something you want help and instructions for, just let me know and I'll do my best to help.

Turns out that you can use the good ol' temporary tattoo application method with unbaked polymer clay and an image printed off of your computer. I did it once for the Rockabilly swap and it worked really well. I think you have to have a jet printer or something, but don't quote me on that. Try it out! It was surprisingly easy. Happy

I think someone here has a tutorial on it or something, too. That's how I found out about it.
