Help with Swaps?

o3o I'm a n00B to swaps, but I think I understand for the most part.
You find a board with an open swap and post that you want to, and then you ship out the stuff you made to the partner that was chosen.
The part where I get confused -well, a but more nervous then confused- Doesn't that mean you would have to give your adress out to a random person..?

If someone could just explain the whole situation with me that has maybe done one before or something, that would be great. Thank you c:

Yes Lyxal , it does mean giving your address out to a random person. But nearly all COAK members that particapte in the swaps know each other ( or will get to know each other) and are extremly nice and friendly. Most people who do the swaps won't do it to steal your address or anything, they do it because its a fun and intesesting process. If your new to doing swaps, it would be best if you posted on the newcomer swap board to be paired up with somebody with pervious swapping experience. This is done so that you are assured that your swap bud will actually do the swap with you and not bail out . Most swaps on the boards will require you to do a newcomer swap first, or another swap so they know that you wont vanish in the middle of a swap. Were all friendly here, so don't be nervous about the addy giving away part Happy

Its totally understandable that your nervous. It took me maybe a year of getting to know people before I signed up for a swap.
