So I've got glass bottles, and I don't know what to do with them.
I was given some bottles of seltzer and I do like the bottles. Their pretty glass, well bottles. And I've got no clue what to do with them.
Any ideas?
Have you seen, The Lost Boys? I made a bottle once like the bottle of blood they had. I glued a bunch of plastic gems on such on it.
You could also decorate with paint, modge podge, ect.
Use them as vases, pencil holders. If they are clear you can fill them up with herbs and flowers and poor in some oil and close is back up.
Hope that helps.
It actually did, My little brother loves the lost boys. I'll make him their bottle of blood for the holidays. Thanks!!
i don't know if this would work but i've seen it done with pop bottles.
you stick a candle in the top and melt crayons so they drip down the sides.
someone made them as centerpieces for the teacher's lounge in a school i was in and it was pretty cool.
uhg! I have the exact same problem. Lots of bottles nothing to do! The only thing I've found to be suprisingly cool is making an oil lamp out of them. They turn out pretty awesome but I'm pretty sure if you've got pets or kids I'd set em up high so they don't get knocked over hahaha. Here's what i did if it inspires you any lol http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/homemade_oil_lamp_2
Ooh, I have a bunch of Frappuccino bottles lying around that I'm thinking of doing something cool with - I'm going to fill them with various pretty trinket things (dragon tears, marbles, beads, pretty pebbles, etc.) and line them all up on a little shelf on the wall! All of my bottles are clear glass and identical, so I think it'll look really cool and modern. Maybe that would work for your bottles?
Other things I routinely use glass bottles for (yay, recycling!) are to hold dried or fresh flowers, as reed diffusers (put in some of those reed thingies and some essential oils, and you have a homemade one that doesn't cost thirty bucks!), and depending on how large or tall they are, to hold office supplies like pens. I hope you find some kind of inspiration!
Get a bunch of normal keyrings, you can get them at any locksmithing shop or a place like that that makes copies of keys.
Then take your glass bottles and then CAREFULLY (with SAFETY GOGGLES) take a Dremel and drill two holes, down toward the bottom of the bottle and on opposite sides from one another.
You now have a "magic smoking bottle" incense burner! Take your incense stick and put the wooden part between the tongs on the keyring. Light the stick and hang it inside the bottle. The bottle will fill with smoke and spill out the top of the bottle!
