Confirmation Slips for Shipping Internationally

I know they have them for the US the little neon green ones so you can track your order but do they exist for international packages? I recently sent out a package to Ireland and apparently it is still in transit so I asked the mail guy if he could look up its location by its "customs #" and he said all he could tell me was that the package made it to Ireland but he couldn't say where it is now. I was going to ask him about confirmation slips for international packages but forgot

sending to uk/ireland if u want to know where it is exactly u need to pay for tracking, can be like $30+ extra. i think customs number just means it made it through customs

We have them here in South Africa. It's more expensive but then you just use the tracking number on the slip to trace it. You can do it either by going on the post office's website or physically going to the post office and asking.

The only way you can get delivery confirmation ( what the USPS calls tracking) on an international package is to do Express/ Expedited Shipping. And for a decent size package that can run you $50.00! For anything large or heavy it's more. I know becuase I've had problems with things reaching South Africa, Chile, and once in The Netherlands. I've asked my post office about it a few times, and it's just so crazy expensive I've never done it.

Thanks, wow that is expensive! It's weird bc I sent 2 packages out at the same time one made it and the other I have no idea what happened other than it's in Ireland some where. I've never had problems with my stuff going out before so I'm wondering when/ if it'll ever get to her. I think I mailed it out in April...with candy :/
