i can't figure out how to upload display pic! help!

can someone please explain how to upload a photo of a project for the main display? i.e the picture that shows the actual project, the box in the top right corner when creating a project.

I know it's probably really simple . . .

when uploading it will say:
Upload main image
From a file | from a url

Choose the one you want and upload the picture
