Agree with Rawr, knowing some of what you already listen to would be a BIG help. But..

"Smile Empty Soul" is one of my favorite bands. They're from California, & mildly popular. They're more hard rock/alternative tho. But awesome. :p
I love 90s hard rock bands. Fuel, Alice in chains, matchbox 20, the offspring, soundgarden, puddle of mudd, seether, staind, Nirvana ... A good variety of really good hard rock bands. None are classic tho.

Nirvana, Korn, Smile Empty Soul, Fuel ....Are who I listen to everyday & love dearly.
I'm a 90s kid, so I listen to mostly grunge, hard rock & metal. Lol

I listen to Nirvana a lot, & people always get his lyrics wrong. Especially "Smells Like Teen Spirit" ...i dont think its entirely their fault cuz grunge is hard to understand sometimes, but still it cracks me the fuck up the things people say while singin along to them. It drives me nuts.
especially when people dont know & they just make noises or say words that dont exist. LOL its crazy. He is speaking english, i swear.

Heres my band list. I've FINALLY seen some bands i really love lately... still doesnt fulfill korn tho. XD
(some of them are lame cuz i was really young and into boy bands. LOL)

    + Backstreet Boys TWICE (2001 & 2005)
    + Janet Jackson (2001)
+ Nappy Roots (rap/hip hop band from kentucky)
+ Justin Timberlake & Christina Aquilera tour
    + Linkin Park (AMAZING!)
    + Slipknot
    + Smile Empty Soul
    + Bush (2011)

    Opening acts of above concerts:
    + Shaggy
    + 112
+ Black Eyed Peas (2 yrs before they got famous)
    + The click 5
    + Coheed & Cambria (twice)
    + Chiodos
    + Trivium
    + Filter
    + Chevelle
    + Other unknows....

I saw Bush this past october, and it was the Best Concert EVER! I LOVE them! I've listened to them daily since i was little, and it was like a dream. lol I even got to hug & mosh with Gavin Rossdale. And Mosh with the singer of Filter.
My favorite band is also Smile Empty Soul, and i finally saw them last year too. In a small club. So i got to meet them/talk to them/ and get their autographs. I was so nervous, but they were fantastic & lovely guys. Im sure i looked like a dork.

...Funny story: When i saw "The Click 5" (opening for BSB), i accidently made the lead singer miss his cue to a song! lol We were both mouthing-words to eachother from across the room (cuz we couldnt hear eachother), during a guitar solo. We had like a complete conversation lip-reading! It was nuts. But then he mouthed something long and i didnt understand him, so he repeated it 3 times ....completely missing the next 3 sentences in the song! He heard the music, freaked out, then started singing again. I was laughing hysterically. He looked back at me and started laughing too, shaking his head. (the rest of the band -and my older sister- were looking at us like "wtf is goin on?!"). It was hilarious. Later He tried to throw me picks 5 times, but i was too far away. Happy
I was goin to talk to him after the show too, but i forgot bc we had a 6hr drive home. Half-way home i remembered, and was LIVID. >.< Who knows, we mightve hooked up or something. lol ...i will always wonder what he was tryin to say to me. Happy

:O XO ...omg, it went thru their leg? Damn. Thats awful. Festivals can get really crazy dangerous. Those barriers arent very safe apparently. lol Its a good thing u got out of there. People can get crushed up in the front. 0.0

The last concert that really peed me off was MAyhem fest (still going on i think) With Korn/Rob Zombie & 2 other bands i think. I was so pissed i missed them coming here. But i just couldnt afford it. Rob is another favorite of mine. I was so sad.

Gosh guys, im so jealous! >.< I need to move. lol

I actually cried the last time i missed Korn. ...& a year before that i cried b/c i missed a FREE Blue October concert (my ride there failed). lol ITs terrible.
I love Blue October too ...i took my anger on that day out on a painting titled from 1 of their songs. lol

Sounds stupid, but one of my "things before u die" is to see Korn. XD its rediculous.

I wouldnt really say that any of the first people u mentioned are "metal", except Otep (who i love). But oh well.

I have to suggest my 2 favorite bands ever.
+ Smile Empty Soul (theyre hard rock/metal)
+ Korn (especially the first album or 2)

Both these bands have changed (and saved) my life. And are phenominal in lyrics/music/videos and live shows.

Also try Metallica, Kittie, Megadeth, Rob Zombie, Rammstein (but they speak german), Slipknot.
I'd also suggest Nirvana ...but theyre not really metal XD ...but they did pave the way for american metal.

    My top 3 favorites are:
    + Nirvana
    + Smile Empty Soul
    + Korn

Theres tons more i could also mention, but these 3 are basically the ones that have changed my life, and i owe my life to them.

I actually got to see/meet the guys of Smile Empty Soul earlier this year... i wanted to tell them that so bad, but i just couldnt. I did make a total fool of myself tho. lol

Wow. You guys are so lucky!! >.< I've never seen anyone i extremely love (except 1). No metal/hard rock bands come to Kentucky, and if they come to Ohio, their tickets are outrageously priced. & im poor. It sucks. Heres all who ive seen:

    + Janet JAckson (w/ 112)
+ Backstreet Boys (w/ Shaggy, other time w/ The Click 5) Seen twice!
    + T.I. & M.I.M.S (w/ Nappy Roots & other rappers i dont remember.) ...sister made me go. >.>
    + Linkin Park (w/ chiodos & Coheed & cambria)
    + Slipknot (w/ coheed & cambria)
+ Smile Empty Soul (MY FAVORITE BAND ALIVE!) Last febuary. So happy. And i met them!!

I've also tried to see Korn 6 times!!! My entire life, & everytime failed horribly. The last time was 4 months ago. I bought the tickets, then they canceled the show!! I'm cursed to never see them, & theyre my 2nd favorite band (not counting Nirvana, cuz they dont exist anymore).
