Cat, we got your card yesterday. It is so delicate and beautiful. What a treat!

This was taken in the town where I attended college (Eau Claire, Wisconsin). Sadly, the poultry-pushing bull's restaurant has since closed.
Suddenly? It's been getting wrong for awhile
Ohhh your pals are so lucky! Wish I had one
Okay, here's some photos of our tree. We always do a custom/unusual tree topper. One year it was a Hulk Hand toy (basically a big green fist), last year is was Curious George climbing the Empire State Building.
This year it's "Sunshine Frida." I used a color copy from Ripley's storybook about Frida Kahlo, cut it out and attached it to cardstock, then fastened a strip of thick stock to the back to hold it in place on the tree.

I received my first card in the mail Saturday, a very sweet one from Jacob, R3n331 and family. Thanks guys!
I'm like you, opp, i could really care less. But Michelle is very passionate about having a real tree, so that's what we get. The only part I don't like is dragging it down four flights from our walk-up apartment after new year's, shedding needles all over the place :-P
For me, the best tree we ever had was our first xmas together -- when we were shacking up in a tiny room in a friend's apartment -- we had a real small, sad looking Charlie Brown tree that we decorated with action figures and junk from the 99-cent store.
Total clutter nutter. When I actually want to do a project, I have to spend hours cleaning up my workspace first... or move the table into another room entirely. Still, I can't imagine throwing anything away... I just know it will come in useful *someday*
Check out my new project, White Rolled Cookies (Sugar Cookies), documenting our daddy/daughter holiday cookie baking. I posted it mostly for the amusement value, but the recipe itself (my mother's) is actually quite good.
Here is Chef Ripley posing with her baking consultant:

You were weaned early?
Zeppliiiiiiin! Great tat Laura.
Aw, Roma! Your hair was very cute.
We like using subway and bus maps.
Mine when out Tuesday. I'm hoping that since NYC is a big postal hub for the U.S., that will help get the cards where they are going in time. I wanted to include a personalized drawing for everyone, but in the interest of getting the cards out on time, I didn't Instead I'll post a drawing for the group when it's ready.
This is my cat, Spooner. He's about 6 years old. We adopted him for a shelter when he was six months old. He's pretty lazy nowadays, not a very good mouser, but is incredibly tolerant of being pulled, tugged and chased by my daugher. So I forgive him.

We also have a Holmes Hingeback Tortise called D.O.G. (so-called because my wife really wanted a, well, you know...) Mostly we just call him "the turtle."
