Great artist/music from your country
The place to share the music from your country that you think everyone should listen to. I'm not a big fan of pop music, I prefer classical, but I do like these songs from Dutch artists:
Anouk - you can sacrifice me (also listen to: nobodies wife and three days in a row)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rM1ubBjCbEE
Krezip - I would stay (all their songs are great)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dh5vPA05CvY&feature=related
The Nits - in the dutch mountains (golden oldie)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2YxNx46yTM
Ohh, this should be fun.
I guess I'll try to throw in bands that might be more universally liked:
-------------------------------
HIM - Awesome band with damn talented vocalist. They're often described as a "love metal" band... Take a peek:
Right here in my Arms
Killing Loneliness
-------------------------------
Apocalyptica - Four classically trained cello players playing metal music... Yes... With cellos. They also have some awesome covers and beautiful classical sounding songs.
Nothing Else Matters (best metallica cover ever?)
I don't Care. Feat. Adam Gontier
-------------------------------
Sonata Arctica - Ok, most people won't like the band's music but I dare you not to like this song:
Tallulah
I don't want to create a way too huge post, so I guess that's it for now.
Oh, but for the people in to heavier music: Check out Children of Bodom (our metal music flag ship) or Nightwish (similar to Within Temptation).
I love Apocalyptica.

Northern Ireland:-
We have
*Ash
*Snow Patrol
And my favourite
*duke special.
Duke special is AMAZZING~
He has dreads and makes music using the oddest assortment of objects like spoons and a titchen whisk.
He also has accordians and clarinets in his music so its even better for me =]
awesome. I love accordians
Great thread! I love to explore new music
Some cool music from Germany (I wonder if the youtube links will work):
Peter Fox - Das Haus am See (=the house at the lake)
Gorgeous drummer choreography in the video!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMqIuAJ92tM
Ich & Ich - Du erinnerst mich an Liebe (= you remind me of love)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKBlAsIlgDQ
And one special person - not German, but Irish... I simply have to introduce you to his music. He tours around Europe each year, and we became friends over the years:
Kieran Halpin - Angel of Paradise (live)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgRytG_F6i8
I love ich & ich
I <3 snow patrol...
Hmm, well... we have:
> Enter Shikari (from St Albans - which is not far from my Uni in Hatfield)
> Saving Aimee (from Herfordshire)
> Hadouken! (says they are from london, but they met in Leeds?)
> Deep purple (Hertford)
> Babe Ruth (Hatfield)
> Alison Goldfrapp from the band Goldfrapp was born in Enfield, London
I'm doing them from Hertford, although I live in London, I am on the borders of Hertfordshire and Essex... weird huh?
First of all, becSTAR, Enter Shikari are exceptionally brilliant.
Other than that, here's some bands and some fun facts;
Steer Clear- Some of them went to my school. My guitar teacher taught the drummer how to play guitar.
The Undertones- My mum's friend forced her to go to the mass the drummer went to, because she fancied him.
Stiff Little Fingers- I don't really have a fun fact for this. But did you know there is no word for "yesterday" in the Eskimo language.
Good South African rock artists are CrashCarBurn, Prime Circle, Ef-El, Glaskas, Cavalier and The Narrow. The only good SA metal artists are Where Martyrs Dare and Faith of Fury
Music from Norway
Classical: Edvard Grieg, Knut Nystedt
Other: Aha (Take on Me),
Royksopp (Apple, Triumphant...),
Marion Raven,
Marit Larsen,
Sondre Lerche (Two Way Monologue),
Australia ~
Put your money where your mouth is by JET
the awesomest aussie band ever

This is Archie Roach, an indigenous musician and this song was written about the forced removal of aboriginal children from their parents.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zLXzKYP1uCw&hl=en_GB&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zLXzKYP1uCw&hl=en_GB&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
This is Gurrumul Yunupingu, another aboriginal artist. He sings in his native tongue and is blind. He's taking Europe by storm at the moment!!!! This song is called Bapa, a song about his father...
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/V_BoaF4B1XI&hl=en_GB&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/V_BoaF4B1XI&hl=en_GB&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

I hope you enjoy these songs. I could have put mainstream australian music up for you all but as an Indigenous Australian I wanted to share a little of my culture and people with you all
