Hi Lauren,

Now might be the time to go to the library and take out a book on a craft that you haven't tried and see what you can come up with.

Also, have a look on www.craftgawker.com that sight should give you some lovely ideas about what you could try and make this holiday.

Have a good stash clear out and look at what you have available. Maybe try and start a new embellished/decorated journal for after the summer holidays, anything that would be useful for school.

Perhaps a mood board?? Get yourself a cheap cork board/notice board and fill it with ideas, pictures, words, colours, bits from magazines, anything that inspires you and is pretty to look at.

There is so much for you to do, try a google search for recycled crafts, or free patterns, or free crafts, crafts ideas, home craft ideas, school craft ideas, creating a journal... etc etc...

Good luck honey,
Hope you find something soon.

K/x

try going on projects here, click the random button
you can replace sewing with gluing, either pva, hot glue gun or fabric glue (or mod podge?)
so just because something says sew doesnt mean machine, and doesnt mean all hand!

I don't use a sewing machine either, but there's still so much you can do. Go to the dollar store and find some cheap paint and decorate a little box to put stuff in. Or make some friendship bracelets. Maybe now is a good time to take up something like knitting or crocheting even. Just remember to use your imagination and have fun with everything! ;D

i have to say, I'm on summer hols at the moment, and aside from swaps, I want to make other thing, but I don't know what. I have spent a day (literally the whole day) clicking the random project button, and not one came up that I wanted to make/had all the materials/knowledge.
I like making plushies, but I have nowhere to store them. Sometimes I want to make something small and quick, others I want to take my time. Like I've said in previous threads, I'm limited for space and money (isn't everyone?!)
I have a couple of "projects" that i need to make, a costume for september and a cloak for my fiancé, but i need fabric and designs for them. having never done anything like that before I'm not sure where to start. I also have a monkey that I need to finish making, but its complicated as I've taken too long and forgotten what fabric is for what.
I don't have much of a range of fabric at home, i have a lot of squares of felt, but each one is a different colour so I can't really make something big out of them unless it's supposed to be multi-coloured.
I have said the next thing I want to make (or one of the next things) is something for myself that I get to keep, but i've no idea what to do. it has to be re-usable, or a plushie. no cushions as ive just got a new sofa which came with cushions so im re-cycling the ones i was going to throw out.

P.s. sorry for some letters being caps and others aren't. My shift button isn't working all the time due to over-use and I can't be bothered to go and change it all this time of night. Tongue

dollarstorecrafts.com has a lot of projects that require just a few materials and a hot glue gun.

If you've never tried making hemp jewelry, that's something that's inexpensive to set up and create.

I find my inspiration in junk stores or charity shops these days. Look for little things that you could like make jewellery out of...or find something boring to jazz up?
