chibi is a small sometimes deformed person or creature. Kinda like you take the person and creature and squished it into a small form. It also can refer to small children and animals.

Chibi can also be called SD which stands for super deformed

I believe it originated in Japan Happy

If you goto google and type in chibi and goto the image results, you'll get a really good idea on it cause I'm bad at explaining :|

thats weird about chibi, ive seen someone put chibi and kawaii in the name/description of their plushie, and based on the explanations, "deformed" and "cute" don't really seem to go together

*edit*
i googled chibi, lots of pictures of anime came up, most looked they have bigger-then-normal heads, or smaller bodies

chibi is the japanese word for small. generally when used to describe some it's a childish (as in, round, kinda chubby) type of drawing.

I understand Mary ;)'s decoupage definition, would a decoupage book just be filled with pictures then?

Well, usually decoupage books explain the technique and the tools you need to do it, make examples, give ideas and also supply a few images you can cut out and use. It might also be just a collection of images to use, but you should have a look at the book I guess.

Hmm, I guessed as much. Usually - generally speaking - if the book is cheap then it's just a collection of images, if it's more expensive it's about the technique and everything. This is just a rule of thumb though, because there can be very expensive images and very cheap technique books (if they're on sale, for example). My suggestion is not to buy the book without having a look at it. Maybe you can find it at a regular bookstore and have a look at it before you buy it?
