More wedding stuff (sorry!!)
Has anyone got any good ideas for relatively simple, low-cost home-made wedding favours?
Something people might keep and enjoy (more than overpriced sugared almonds in a little bag, ugh).
I'm at a blank here!
My crafting skills are more towards cooking/baking, modelling (as in clay/fimo not catwalk LOL), glasspainting, woodwork etc'. I'm not sooo hot with a needle and thread but can just about manage.
what about pressed sugar boxes? You mis frothy eggs whites with regular suagr until it looks like wet sand, then you press into shapes. you can decorate them with royal icing. here are a few pictures

Hi all,
You might be interested in my latest blog post. I have just started a whole series on bespoke weddings and we are following the progress of one bride making her veil and other bits and pieces. In future wedding posts we will be including links to some cool wedding web sites we've found, top tips and ideas. If you would like to take a look please go to http://www.beadbarmy.com/
At my own wedding, I used sticks of rock for the table places with peoples names printed and wrapped round them. I made my own favour bags. We had The Beatles 'I will' as our music. I printed mini pages of the sheet music with our names and the date of the wedding on the reverse. I then rolled them up into little scrolls tied with ribbon. These went in the favour bags along with a couple of flying saucer sweets - cheap and we thought it'd make people nostalgic!
Cheers
Jo
