People bringing down creativity?

My mum's ok with stuff like this, she used to make her own stuff as a kid, she does basic sewing jobs like altering hems and taking stuff in and she loves knitting. The only reason she doesn;t like making clothes anymore is that she finds it very time consuming, I think she also assosiates making clothes with her childhood, she had to make clothes because back in the day they didn't sell clothes for larger people. Which I can understand her having a negative assosiation, but the way I look at it is, that I'm making something that I want and will actually enjoy and appreciate, this is letting my creativity flow and it's like I might see something I like but not in my size... or I might buy something I like, but there is one thing I don't like, so if I alter it I'll like it. I don't think she quite gets that but she is supportive in teaching me how to sew and stuff!!
