Dragon Eggs and Air Dry Clay

I've been working on some dragon eggs this past week for a booth I'll have at a Creative Con in February. I have tried making some DIY air drying clay to use but haven't been pleased with any of the recipes I've found on line so far. I'm cheap, I know I could just buy some but I'd like to have some that I could make that would work. Have any of you come up with a good recipe?
