It's really tricky with what GP you get as well. I remember complaining on here a while ago cause this horrible GP wouldn't help me out when I was pretty severely depressed. But the woman I went to about my ear infection was lovely and actually helped

how about just getting an appointment these days! We have to phone up from half 8 for an appointment that day, but everyone phones at half 8 so you don't get through and half 8 is usually later then people leave the house for work or whatever!

I don't like any doctors I've had apart from 2 and I asked the doctor once for free condoms and he said 'no we don't do that here' yes you do the nurse gives them out so why doesn't he since I get free contraception anyway!! And once my ear lobes were all hot and ikky and he told me there was no infection.

I have a rash across my stomach and back that I've had for about 3 weeks, since the weather went nice so its like perminant heat rash. But it's just getting round to phoning the doctors!

yes my docs is the same, you have to call by a certain time and usually I can't get an appointment for days! Unless I want to go after 4pm when it costs more and it wont be my actual doctor.
I have to go next month, I have extremely dry and painful scalp. It's awful and pretty demoralising Happy

Yeh mine was really bad at one point! I'd used head and shoulders for like all my life and suddenly it stopped working. It wasn't painful though! My dad's is the same. I used johnsons baby shampoo and that worked but my hair became greasy fast, t gel worked alright but it was like 4 quid a bottle and now I'm using Loreal Elvive anti dandruff shampoo. It is really demoralising when you've got loads of flakes and they land on your clothes when you've never had dandruff before, mine wasn't dandruff it was just dry/flaky scalp but i'd never had it before but I suffer from eczema. Apparently E45 shampoo is good but it sounds like you need something medicated.

aw poor you! I used to have pretty bad psoriasis, that comes back when im stressed, you need a medicated shampoo called Nizarol, they prescibe it or you can buy it from chemists.
I have one fantastic doctor but shes always on leave when Im ill, my family doctor is incompetant- he patronized my mum when she took my sister because she hurt her foot, basically made out that she was making it up and wouldn't refer her, despite repeated requests. turns out her foot was broken for over two years and she had to have screws but it wont heal.
my other doctor I dont see anymore because every time I go, he just gives me painkillers, so I have repeat prescriptions for various highly addictive forms of codeine Happy and dont even start on counsellers!
I just go to the walk-in centres now

wow that is horrible on what they did to your sister! broken foot for over two years! It almost reminds me when I was in high school and I had locked my jaw and the doctors told my parents that I was fine and even told them that I was making it up for attention. For 3 months I could not eat anything correctly cause I had to squish my food in mouth to eat! It was to the point were my dad actually saw how I ate my favorite food(tacos) when he realized there was something wrong with my jaw. He took me to another doctor and they took care of me, but to this day I am so stubborn(ask my husband) that I refuse to go to the doctor especially to the army emergency room cause all they do is make you wait for 5 hours to be seen and another 2 hours to see a doctor for a 3 minute exam saying "oh your sick, let me get you some Tylenol and you will be fine" . Some of these doctors make me so angry, cause they just don't care about the patient any more, they only care about their pay checks!

Mm it is rubbish. Roma, do you not have a special sexual health clinic? I have one about fifteen minutes walk from my house and they're LOVELY in there and totally unjudgemental, they've always been really helpful.

I hate to say it, but I'm so much more comfortable with female nurses. Male nurses tend to pin everything on my being a 16 year old girl. It's really frustrating.

Thanks for the empathy guys Happy My brother has it too and it's called subdermic something and he got prescribed some special shampoo. I had exzema as a baby, so I'm sure it's prob something to so with that.

I usually have a female doctor. One time I had to go to a specialist for my knee and he asked me to take off my jeans! All I had on was my pants and a tshirt, very embarassing lying face down on a bed while he flexes your legs!
The one time I went for a pap, it was a lady and she couldn't have been nicer Happy

I've had eczema since I was a child and it flares up on my inner elbows and my legs when I'm stressed or when it get's hot out for ages.

My friend went to the doctors with an ear infection and got perscribed indigestion medicine!!!! Something ridiculously unrelated anyway.
