Removing appliques from sweaters

So I'm making a sweater dress from one of my dad's golf sweaters and it has a few golf appliques (it think they're appliques) on it.
They look like so:

The front:

The back:

I don't really want a sweater dress with golf balls and golf clubs all over it. So, how do I remove them? They came with the sweater, I do believe.

Please and thanks in advance!

You won't be able to remove them without leaving holes because those aren't appliqués, which would sit on the surface of the material and be easier to unpick, rather they are embroideries and have been stitched right into the fabric of the material. So if you're not a golf fan I can only suggest turning them into cute ice creams by over stitching in pretty colours and adding sequins/beads etc or covering with new embroidered patches, either your own creations or commercially bought. If making your own try using 100% acrylic felt. This is washable, on a low temperature, and usually colour fast (but do test first by soaking a little bit in warm soapy water then ironing between white cotton scraps. If you see any colour run on the cotton, don't use for this project.) Good luck - and let me know what happens! Happy

Embroideries! There we go, that's the word.
