Glue + Jars=HELP
I'm trying to do some cute Halloween Jar recreations. But I can't get the glue residue off my jars, after removing the label there is this awful residue, that Hates me!
So far I've tried.
Vinegar
Rubbing Alcohol
Acetone Nail Polish Remover
Hot Water & Soap (which moved the glue around but didn't get rid of it)
Scrapping it off (just managed to scratch the glass)
I am going to try tomorrow
Blow Drying
Boiling
Any other ideas??
Goo gone!!! It will take it off like nothing was ever there. That crap is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will sing praises to goo gone until I die.
Have you tried taking a lighter or candle to it? idk if thatll work, ive never tried it, but u never know.
It will definetely melt it again, so maybe its easier to scrape off?
I usually cover the glue leftover with other things, so u dont notice. lol
Wow this glue must be pretty tough. Normally I get any glue off with my nail varnish remover or white spirits.
One thing you haven't tried yet is purple spirits (methylated spirits). I'm not sure if it will help though..
Veronies, I'll check that out, is it something I have to order online? I've never heard of it before.
Darkashhurts, that might work I'll try that.
Rawr.Rawr.X, Yeah it's ridiculusly strong glue. I just keep wondering what glue they used because I have some crafty ideas that I'd like to use it with.
I haven't tried any spirits, but I'll look into that too
Thanks for the advice I'm embarking down the De-glueing road again today! I'll share what works!
You can usually find goo gone in normal supermarkets even walmart and target should carry it. I can't believe the glue has withstood everything else you have tried! Ohh, try using a razor or credit card to scrape the goo gone and glue off, it really helps. Make sure you put enough to soak the glue and let it sit, I worked in housekeeping and it never fails.
Peroxide? it helps with blood stains
eucalyptus oil
may need a wash with soapy water to get rid of the residue afterwards.
eucalyptus oil is handy to keep afterwards for cold season
