"facebook payers"
So when a toddler from B.C., Canada went missing recently (he's been returned now) there was a large amount of status updates and the like about him to "be liked and uploaded on your own status".
It seems to me that half the info is wrong or missing but it still gets passed around. Like those "if you don't forward this email you account will be shut down" spams.
Personally, I think that a news article type update can be helpful in staying connected and potentially in aiding police/RCMP but the constant pictures (which aren't always labelled so it's just assumed it's a cousin or something) and prayers and turns-out-false leads are useless. Perhaps prayers might make the poster feel better but why is there the need to "pass it on"?
Your thought?
I have a question for you. Are you talking about spam emails or facebook status requests?
What i find stupid is the whole "put this as your status if you support cancer research" but yet they people most likely will never donate a few dollars to go towards the research.
I hate the ones that try to tell you that if you don't post this message about how you believe in God then you are turning your back on Him.
The cancer ones are annoying too.
But I find the Casey Anthony ones to be the worst. Because it's the same people who post the religious ones that post the Casey Anthony ones and I wonder what right they think they have to pass judgment if they are supposed to be believing in God.
It bugs me that some status updates are supposed to support breast cancer etc but how do they do that? Is someone counting updates and doanting a dollar for each? Some of the game would be fun but why can't it just be called a game?
Undead.Cuppy, it seems that a lot of spam emails are slowly turning into facebook statuses. I've seen some that tell you that if you don't do such-and-such that your account will be shut down. I remember, and still get on occasion, those emails about Hotmail.
I've been just evil enough to simply do a quick search on Snopes.com and then post the link that proves it's (99.9% of the time) a hoax. The only statuses I repost are those that make me giggle (like the "Please copy and paste this in your status if you are always being asked to copy and paste things in your status by people who copy and paste things in their statuses."). The "support" ones are rarely (I hesitate to say never just because) anything more than a pile of poo.
well spam or FB status, it is SO annoying!!!!!!
