You could make him a little coffin and include a coffin shaped book with all the reasons you love him.
If you are good with clay you could mold the two of you as Jack, and Sally.

An anatomically correct heart plush, I think they strike the right sort of noteHappy

My boyfriend is super goth so I totally get where you are coming from. I remember one of his friends once wrote love poems to a girl using his own blood (I would suggest that as a last resort personally).

I once made my boyfriend a "picnic" dinner in our living room for Valentine's Day. I spread out a white blanket and covered all the table tops with white candles and dragon tears, bits of glass and mirror so it shimmered. Then I made him a gormet pizza from scratch. A loaf of bread (the pop out of the can kind) and a double layer chocolate coffee cake from scratch!) He really loved it. Everything in the living room was white and I wore my little black dress.

Another gift he really loved one year was me getting a bunch of his posters framed. I also had gotten an autographed picture from Interview and the book that was autographed by Anne Rice- he totally loved that.

I also once got him a bunch of black towls and candles and accessories from Halloween to decorate his bathroom one year and when he got home I had made over the whole bathroom in the new stuff. (that was for his birthday).

I think in the end its all in how you present it. I think my next really big presentation gift for him will be a Vampire Kit- they were super popular after Dracula was published. Anyone who traveled through the darker parts of Europe carried one. But I'm going to be super accurate about it. Most people aren't aware that two of the most common ways to prevent a vampire from rising was two nail a large iron nail through the eyes of the believed vampire or to place a brick in their mouth. And sadly most people think that driving a wooden stake through a vampire will kill them but all it really did was nail them down to their coffin so they couldn't get up. The only ways to really kill a vampire were beheading and burning. Otherwise people just tried to prevent them from getting up.

You might consider making him a secret book and put a Claddagh ring in it tied to a black ribbon. You could probably find some really cool looking old books on ebay for really cheap to use for that. There are some awesome titled books out there. I once found one that was called "You Can Trust The Communists---- to be Communists" I thought that was pretty funny.

How about a book of spells/shadows with a picture of you both on the front, cobwebs and spiders in the corners. You could make it out of black sugar paper. Decorate a silver gel pen to look like a wand to use with it. You could write a heartfelt message inside.
