Refashion Help Needed ASAP

Hi all. I am fairly new to the site and I could use some help. I am refashioning an awesome Michael Kors button down shirt into a hoody for my son. The problem I am having is the cuffs. The shirt has french cuffs. Which if it were for me it would be fine. But it is for my 9 year old son. Any ideas of what I can do to change them. Thank you in advance for any help.

I personally would cut the shirt sleeves off and replace them with something softer and warmer.

You could remove the cuffs and cut out some new cuffs with an old t-shirt, tube socks, whatever- use your imagination.
