Need Help with Quilt

I am making my boyfriend a Futurama quilt and could use some advice. I want images of the characters incorporated in the quilt and was wondering the best way to do that? I would use iron-on photo transfer paper but I am worried that the photos will feel stiff on the quilt... Is there a better way to do this so the quilt stays cozy? Any ideas and/or suggestions would be great!!! Thanks!

You can do quite a few things. Applique, cutting the images out of fabric that's pre-printed (t-shirts, etc) The iron on transfers are good and wouldn't be too stiff...but they wouldn't last forever. (they have a tendency to peel)

The think I would do is buy the printable fabric sheets. You can print the image on the sheet and sew it directly into the quilt like regular fabric.

Here is an example. I'm pretty sure you can find them cheaper.

I like applique the most for quilting...
maybe you could even do some patchwork to make the images... it's more job, but it looks so pretty!

This is a link to a page of my "I" book.I used Solvy a water soluble stabilzer to trace image which I then applied to the silk ,embroidered, and then washed stablizer away. This is a good way to transfer line images.
I used printable fabric to great effects in my Art quilts too. http://www.flickr.com/photos/essexdebs/4474921744/in/set-72157623278208438/
