Lint all over my t-shirt

I have a t-shirt that I'd like to reconstruct, but the problem is no matter what I do,it collects every speck of lint and hair in the house. I'm going to try softening it in a salt water solution and then washing it with vinegar and fabric softener. But I was wondering if anyone knew of any other ways to try to get rid of the static cling of this shirt. Normal washing with fabric softner and dryer sheets don't work.

There's surely some kind of static spray that could be useful. I don't know any brands offhand though.

Have you tried rubbing a fabric softener sheet over the fabric, fron and back. It should also make it smell nice.
