Indoor Garden?

I haven't ever really tried to grow anything before but I just bought a bunch of seeds.
Baby tomatoes, sweet and Genovese basil, gourd, cucumber, watermelon and radish

on the back of the packets it says that now is the time to plant everything I was wondering if I could plant them in the same container before (transporting outside )or would the watermelon taste like radish if I did?

Also, what is the difference between sweet basil and genovese basil? I thought basil was basil.

I had a indoor garden before I put everything out on our porch.

I don't recommend putting everything in one. I am not sure if it would affect the the taste, but you won't know what you are growing. This is important because certain plants need more room to grow - Ie - watermelon and basil.

I would get a seed tray and put a couple seeds into each pod. (similar to this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gardman-Value-Seed-Plant-Raising/dp/B003B2QHN8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1340548720&sr=8-2). I also label each pod with the type of seeds you have in there.

Once the plants are a couple inches high, then they can be transferred outside. Check your packet of seeds - it should say if there are specific needs for your plant.

I have no idea about the basil.

I didn't even think about that- I just assumed everything needed the same amount of room to grow. I just got some soil and I thought about getting those little pots in your link but didn't I'll probably go back tomorrow to get them. thanks Happy
