Complementary Therapies
I thought I'd start up this a new thread as its something I'm really interested in. I'm a trained massage therapist and hoping to get on a Reiki course at the local college when they run a new one. I'm not in favour of using alternative therapies to replace drugs but I think anything that reduces the amount of drugs you need to put into your body is a great thing. I find relieving a massage great for my anxiety and insomnia. Also I have a friend learning Aromatherapy and I've offered to be a case study for her when she starts her course work. I also like putting a bit of aromatherapy oils in the bath when I'm stressed. What do others think about this kind of thing?
I think its a great idea. I enjoy aromatherapy, I think it helps relax you
Awesome, Arty! I'm going to massage school hopefully in the Spring - and it has Reiki and Aromatherapy and tons of other stuff included in the course! I can't wait to learn more, and I hope it opens my eyes to not only physical therapies, but energy therapy, aromatherapy and all sorts of things! I agree that anything that reduces the amount of drugs you need is a VERY good thing - especially since so many pharmaseutical drugs these days do more harm than good. I've heard that you can also put essential oil in the tub before you start a shower, so when the hot water hits it, the aroma rises up - it sounds so relaxing!
it is, I use tea bags in my bath, like green tea or citrus or rosehip
I'd not thought of putting teabags in the bath. That sounds nice. Do you have to use a few?
Good luck Gypsie with doing a course in the spring. Massage was great to do as you practice on each other and get a free massage every week
I've heard Oat bagged up is good in the bath if you have dry or sensitive skin. I keep meaning to try it. Have you tried it Michelle? I know you have very sensitive skin.
I use 4, just buy some at a dollar store, how about colour theraphy?
I think surrounding yourself with positive colours help too
and yes, oats is very good, try it with milk
